The flowers and plants I used were the sum of their parts.  Sometimes I used them whole; often I broke them down into their separate elements, combining a simple stem with a beautiful line, or one perfect blossom taken from Queen Anne's Lace, or a single Forget-Me-Not.  I liked to isolate parts of the flower to emphasize the startling beauty and form that is inherent to each.

I see the seasonal colors of nature as parallel to the seasons of  Ide.  The light, airy, soft colors of spring mature into the more intense and deepening shades of summer and fall.  Nature is truly the ultimate art form, and my work enables us to all enjoy it in another way.

Twenty-five years ago I began working with pressed and dried flowers as a means of coping with the loss of my son.  Creating simple gifts of pressed flowers became my therapy, and I drew strength from the emotional connection of creativity and love of nature that he and I had shared.
As outside interest in my work grew, I exhibited at shows throughout the Northeast.  I soon became dissatisfied with the instability of the colors of the flowers, and researched alternatives to placing them under glass.  I discovered the medium of resins and embarked upon the path of trial and error, learning from experience what techniques worked best.
I have now branched out into designing jewelry from some of the semi-precious gemstones that I love.  I am totally fascinated by the different combinations that enhance and compliment each other and never grow weary of mixing, matching, adding to, and creating new wonderful jewelry.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Thank you for stopping by and please come browse around and I sincerely hope you enjoy my creations as much as I do.  Bookmark my home page and stop back often as I am always fussing around with new items and new ways to display my flowers.
